ClassicPress is a fork of WordPress 4.9. It keeps the classic TinyMCE as a text editor without the integration of the controversial Gutenberg page builder:
Forked from #WordPress, without #Gutenberg. ClassicPress is a business-focused CMS. Stable. Secure. Instantly Familiar
— ClassicPress @GetClassicPress
For some developers, the lack of Gutenberg is a big plus for technical reasons. Some users strongly prefer TinyMCE as a text editor because it’s better suited for text writing. No doubt, the occurrence of ClassicPress is appreciated and welcome.
Of course, if you chose ClassicPress, you should host it somewhere.
ClassicPress hosting choices
Hosting of ClassicPress website can be done in two ways.
First, on a general server, shared or dedicated, but not specifically tailored to ClassicPress.
Second, on a dedicated server, hardened for security and tailored for speed and performance by choosing and configuring server stack specifically for ClassicPress. OK, maybe for WordPress as well.
As ClassicPress is a more business-oriented content management software, in most cases it needs better hosting than a general shared hosting or bare unsecured VPS.
That’s why we built PressHill, a WordPress/ClassicPress hosting for important websites.
ClassicPress hosting in the Docker containers
We like ClassicPress’ approach and we support hosting it from the very beginning.
Just for reminder, our roots are in managing servers in banking business. Security is in our DNA, we care about it in every step we take in our hosting.
That’s why for ClassicPress (and for WordPress as well), we created the custom-made Docker containers stack in a secured and hardened VPS.
Our security and speed-minded approach will ideally fit the business-oriented approach of ClassicPress.
ClassicPress hosting performance
Server performance is the second trait we have. That’s why we use LiteSpeed, instead of Apache or NginX. LiteSpeed has full compatibility with Apache and even a better speed than NginX.
When you host on a VPS, instead of a shared server, performance doesn’t depend on your neighbors. Plus, the traffic spikes always can be resolved with the LiteSpeed Cache plugin, which comes preinstalled by default. Just turn it on and tune to your site specifics.
Managed VPS for ClassicPress hosting
Managing VPS is our business, you can know nothing about servers, VPS management, Docker, LiteSpeed, server security, and many other specific tasks – we will take care of them.
From our panel you can choose to install ClassicPress, WordPress 4.9, or the latest WordPress.
Everything that we said or will say about WordPress hosting on this website applies to the ClassicPress hosting too. We will treat these two content management systems equally.
Also, we will support the ClassicPress 2, 3, and others when they are released.
As ClassicPress is a business-oriented content management software, it needs better hosting than general shared or private servers. Please, tweet thisWelcome to the PressHill hosting!
